Wow, that's weird.. maybe its something to do with being so incy and pathetic, but we only get the paperback versions here. Of, like, everything. Ive never seen an AR book in hardback. Except the compilation of the first 4 (it's like, Alex Rider: The Missions or something silly) which I own, which is hardcover... Never seen the twilight books hardcover either... oh, we have HP in hardback!! Thats actually the only thing I can think of that came out in hardback, and then later was released soft cover....
Im pretty much glad though - I mean if the paperbacks are this expensive!!!!! - I dont even want to KNOW what the hardback would be like!! O.O *hates NZ book pricings*
But you're right AR:A..... BOT....

At first we could get them in Hardcover but later we can get them all in paperback. But the time between it is so long, that I can't wait for the cheaper books. But the German cover don't look so good as the British.
So I have bought Crocodile Tears with a hardcover and later I will buy it in German paperback.

yeah, why is that? seriously the books that i had to order from the UK had way better covers than the american versions that came out like a year later.

ya I've seen many different versions of the covers, my personal favorite being this kind:
http://www.kidsreads.com/art/covers/140w/9780142412121.jpg
I've also seen these:
http://img1.fantasticfiction.co.uk/images/c1/c8553.jpg
But to stay on topic, I hope CT comes out in paperback soon with the classic AR cover
also, to those who have CT, is the spine the same as the others? cause I want it to fit in with my other AR books hahah xD

@ MadCatta
German might be a cool language, but it also isn't easy to learn.
I think English is a very interesting language, because it is the world language. In school the first other language we began to learn was English.
What language have you got to learn in school?

I know! I'm getting a B in it so far... :-S
Up until 2 years ago, both French and German. Now I've kept them both on for 'fun' xD.
But that's off topic...

the second lot Jule posted are the ones i read first. I always thought the other covers - the ones with the one colour, and a symbol or something on the front - were so bleh! but the Snakehead one is AWESOME and I LURVE the CT one too. And Scorpia and Ark Angel are good... and I have the first 4 in one book, and it's got a different cover. So I dont mind.
*coughs* BOT...
Oh, one more thing - no, Jule, the spine isnt really the same! - the part that's usually silver (the strip at the top) is the same green as the cover. Peds was complaining because it doesnt fit with the others O.o
Now REALLY BOT...

What do you mean? You want to be told about the book?
that's spoilers!! And muchly frowned upon! Unless you REALLY cant get it for AGES. But even then...
And if you have read it and want to talk about it, there's a section for it now... on the AR books list...
Im confused about what you're so desperate to discuss!!

YES!
FINALLY Crocodile Tears comes in the mail lol, it took a week!
but now I have my hands on it, and I have to say, I actually kinda like the cover.
It is cooler in real life.
However, I still had to take it off cause it kept slipping and sliding, and I still prefer paperback haha.
But anyway, what's important is the book itself!
I just read the first chapter and I LOVE it already. AH really knows how to start a book
well, im gonna go finish it and then move to the other CT forum with the spoilers and talk about it there lol ^_^

@arrowsong: How much are paperbacks for you?
Just noticed that!!!
Right now, $20 (how much CT cost me - fortunately it's a children's paperback, and so much less than a teen or adult book - an adult paperback would be $30 or $35) is equal to...
$15.70 AUD (Australia)
?8.75 GBP (England - pounds)
$14.50 USD (USA)
9.60 euro
but that is REALLY reasonable for a book here. Normally they're (as I said) $30 or $35 (Eclipse and BD were $35 each. That hurt! =/)
Which is...
$27.40 AUD
?15.30 pounds
$25.45 USD
A hardback or a really thick/particularly literary paperback will be upwards of $40/$45.
How much are books for you guys? if you want, the currency converter I was having fun with is at
