At the end of the movie jack says sayle could have ran off to some small and remote place like iowa
    I'm from iowa so i pick up on things like this The movie National Treasure does the same thing
      IOWA IS NOT THAT SMALL!!
               the only other place that produces more corn than us is China and we get good Angus beef cheap! so ha ha
          why do people make fun of iowa? grrrrrrrrrrrr!

You should have put a spoiler tag on your subject line. Thanks for ruining the end of the movie for me... JUST KIDDING! I've already read the book, so I know what they said!

But seriously, the people in the movie can't always be watching out for potentially offensive things in their movies. If they did, then movies would all be bland and unimaginative because almost anything can be offensive. In fact, this whole story could be seen as offesive, so you really shouldn't sweat something small like this. Better idea would be to just laugh with it.

If you can't laugh at yourself, then don't laugh at others.

Not being from Iowa, i don't really pick up on stuff like that in stuff, but if you look at other stuff you find a lot of other places get far worse.  Alabama, to use the best US example I can think of... that's sent up in Sweet Home Alabama, Forrest Gump (to a certain extent), Top Gear... Wales in the Uk...but then again, that's had the mick taken out of it by 'Torchwood' which is filmed in Wales, and has Welsh people in the cast...anyone who comes from a farming background anywhere is labelled stupid, backward and unskilled at anything but farming (coming from such a background, I beg to differ)...

 To continue from Kylo's quote, it's important to learn to laugh at yourself, 'cause then other people don't see any fun in doing the same.

i dont think they ment to make fun of iowa, but yes, i do have to admit they were stereotyping.  some people say that asians drive bad. i just suck it up and laugh along with them.( i am only part asian) its important to  see the bad in things, but its also important to laugh at it and let it go. hope this calms you down a bit. ;]

yea I don't think they were making fun of Iowa or anything but come on, let's be for real.  who would ever look in Iowa.  Iowa is kind of remote.  But I don't mean that in a bad way or anything.  and I know what you mean about bad portrayal in the media.  I'm from kentucky and everyone always thinks we're all dumb as rocks and inbred.  While I do know a few people who are as dumb as a rock, I don't know anyone who's inbred.  And there are a lot of really smart, normal ppl here.  and compared to all of the other states I've been to, Kentuckians are much friendlier.
