I very much hope all the Scorpia members don't die. Tha's just so unrealistic. I think it's more likely that however Alex stops Scorpia this time is going to be very public and everyone will know, thus ruining their reputaton forever and they'll be done with. A gadget book wouldn't be good but I wouldn't mind anothr book like Mission Files, since Mission Files only went up to Snakehead. Sort of an Alex Rider encyclopedia like JK Rowling is going to do for Harry Potter.

well I didn't mean just the gadget book, I was including mission files as well.  I wouldn't want a book like that really.  I was hoping it would be a book to continue the story in some way, or at least give more background information like the Yassen book.

Well, that's basically what Mission Files is. A ton of background information. It's just not in the fom of a story, but rather a document. Another thought I JUST had. An idea for one of Smither's Gadgets! Remember the soft centers chocolate that Smither's gave Alex at the end of Crocodile Tears? They could be some sort of device.

haha what if they've secretly been in every book and we never noticed them.  Like just a quick mention that they were on smithers' desk and such.  Haha that would be crazy.

Tha wouldn't work because in Book 2, Smithers is out in the field in a combine harvester so he has nothing on him but the few gadgets he brought for Alex. I asked this question in the questions about the books thread but I may as well ask here too. Who on EARTH is Yuri Grand?

Hey, Rangacheese welcome to the boards! If you read through some of the comments in the actual topic for that there are lots of good hints. (for real, they pretty much tell you where it is (or how to acquire it other ways))  So yeah, go look there.  Also, when you post in a topic it's probably best to actually talk about that topic. haha

In AH's post 2 more chapters it says a character that has been with us since book 1 will die and I got worried.  This is what I came up with:
Alan Blunt
Mrs. Jones
Jack
Smithers
Then I started thinkin'...  What about Alex.  Then later in the post it said that it would be FOR SURE the last book.  (And if Alex dies it would be the last book.)
Any body followin'?  huh

He flat out says Alex won't die. He also says it will be worse than if he died.

So if Alex doesn't die, then how will he end the books so we'll be sure that it's the last AR book ever? If he doesn't die that will leave an opening for other stories. Even if Alex leaves MI6 forever there will still be an opening for more stories. If anybodies going to die, it's going to be Jack. It doesn't seem right for her to have lived this long anyways. Don't you think that some of Alex's enemies would have hunted her down and killed her yet? And Sabina has to die. I'm sorry, but I really, really hate her.

I'm guessing that why Anthony Horowitz says that Alex's fate will be worse than death is because Alex will one, intentionally kill somebody, and two, one of his actions will end up killing a friend.

I completely understand Horowitz saying that he can't find a happy ending for Alex. I can't find one either. Any way you end the books happily will leave an opening for later books and Horowitz says that you'll know this is the last one. My opinion was that Alex would die. Apparently he won't, so I'm scared. What could possibly happen that would be worse than his death? Sure there are things such as having to live with the guilt of killing somebody or something, but I think that death would be worse than the guilt. I think. And if it is guilt. Then what is he guilty about?

The funny thing is, I kind of want Alex to die in the end. I don't know why. I love Alex as a character and I don't know why I would want him to die. Usually I'd never want the main character to die. I think I might want it because I've never seen a book that doesn't end happily ever after. So it kind of disappoints me that he won't die and scares me that what will happen to him is worse than death. Do you remember how the last books title was originally going to be Endurance Point? Even though it's not the title anymore, there had to have been a reason for Horowitz thinking of calling it that. Alex reaching his endurance point.

Ooh, brainwave! Maybe it all drives him crazy! I would hate that! I mean I would really, really hate that! But what if that happened...

I'm not sure how it will end but I'm glad it won't be happy. It's a nice change for the series which, until now, has always been the good side wins and everythings mostly happy in the end. April is too far away.

i'm sort of glad it won't be happy too. I don't know why though. I've always wanted stories to end happily ever after. It's actually coming out two days before my little sister's birthday. I can't wait for it to come out so I can read it and find out the ending!
