What good would a message / warning do if you didn't understand it until you where about to get crushed or killed or captured (etc.)Huh??   It would have to be a little less cryptic and I think past Matt would realize this.  That is unless people back then could understand messages like "

Hey i just made those up off the top of my head they don't mean any thing really.

Well if you really want to look into it and see what i meant theres 24 hours of sunlight in Antarctica for half the year so "the sun never sets" and Sapling is a young tree and Jamie is Sapling so trust in trees-Trust in Sapling-Trust in Jamie? Maybe probably not though

The idea of one killing the other... and reading the others books to like, change things or something is really good, I really like it! Makes a load of sense too, 'cause the library has been given off to be more important than it has been so far.

That would suck if  Richard where  to die.    cry He's one of my favorite characters outside of the Five.  But if he where to die to make the book even better I think I could live with that.

To true not everyone gets a happy ending, but it is nice when no one dies.  When it makes the book better then it's exceptable to kill off people but come on why does anyone have to die?Huh? It's so unfair. sad  Oh well.

This is just a theory:
Matt is going to die. AH wants us to believe that past Matt knew how to win against the old because he read his book in the library, but maybe he didn't. If future Matt dies, past Matt will be sent to the future to Richard and the other gatekeepers. They tell Matt how to defeat the old in the past, so past Matt doesn't need to read his book.
Yeah, I know, it's a time paradox.

That would be very very interesting, and killing Matt is something i could see AH doing which in turn ruins the shock.  Then again AH always seems to be able to suprise me.  You never really know.  undecided

Hmm ... I think it will be Jamie.

I think Jamie will die, and everyone will be all panicking because there's nobody to replace him - but what if Sapling can replace him BEFORE he dies? (Okay, I just confused myself, but whatever ...) and then they all realize there's no way they can lose because no matter what they'll be replaced, so its a huge morale boost that helps them win.
